My diary, if I kept such a thing, would read: The stove almost blew up today. No calls to repairman. We’re eating salad tonight so I can finish reading Julie Orringer’s beautiful novel, The Invisible Bridge.
I’ll write about this magnificient novel later this week, but for now you might want to watch this amusing commercial at Green Apple Books in San Francisco.

I have it on my tbr pile moving it to the top.Looking foward to review.Out here it is way to hot to cook a sald night for us to.
It’s very good, Rhonda. The Green Apple Books video stayed in my mind and I finally picked it up the other day at B&N (we’re not exactly the capital of independent bookstores here).
It’s cooled off here, thank goodness. But my tiny ’60s stove, built into the cabinets of the kitchen, may be too old to fix. I don’t enjoy cooking that much anyway…
